Hope Mandel, President, GLOBAL DECISIONS, has more than 20 years experience from her tenure at The Nielsen Company providing insights from retail measurement and consumer panel data to both manufacturers and retailers in the US.
In 1999, Hope joined the Burke Institute, a business unit of Nielsen. Her mandate was to train manufacturers, retailers and market researchers around the globe on how to make decisions with various information sources and it soon became her passion. She also took the Storewars business simulation which was being run for Nielsen’s European executives and rolled it out to Nielsen associates and their clients around the world.
After the Burke Institute was sold, Hope founded GLOBAL DECISIONS in 2003 in order to continue this mission. Participants in her various classes have come from virtually every major industry player in 33 countries.
From October 2007-December 2009, Hope also served as the Global Training Resources Director for the Category Management Association (www.cpgcatnet.org), an organization dedicated to Advancing Professional Standards in Category Management. She was responsible for the training-related activities of the association, including running a training referral service, and helped to organize their annual Category Management Conference. Hope was also a key contributor to the committee setting the industry-wide standards for category management certification.
Hope has a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers College and resides in Shelton, CT. She lives her life with the same passion with which she trains her clients. She is a major Bruce Springsteen fan, an outdoor enthusiast and budding photographer and an advanced technical scuba diver. Hope also twice completed a double century bike event (riding 200 miles in one day) before trading her bicycle seat for an airplane seat.
